Cars

Leanne's post below fills me with nostalgia. I believe I'll put on Radar Love and take a little spin down memory lane.

My first car was a 1968 Ford Torino similar to this body style. It was sort of a bronzy brown with a black top and black racing stripes:

Second car was the Comet! It looked exactly like this except with a white top:

Third car was a blue and white Oldsmobile 442:

Mercury Rising

Mom, you'd be happy to know that I'm trying to work in your first car to a Kotex ad. Because of you, I love the Comet.

Elvis Auction

Better start saving our pennies. Gotta Have Rock and Roll is conducting an Elvis auction including his white piano from Graceland. Would that not be the coolest piece of memorabilia of all time?!

Will this be fabulous?

Another UK to America television export. The new Absolutely Fabulous will star Kristen Johnston (love her) and Kathryn Hahn who?). Mom, I think you're more of a fan of the original than I am, what do you think?

Halloween Come Early

I've been holding on to this favorite for a while but just found out I missed a big art show premiere last weekend so I thought it was timely to share. This artist Nick Cave (same name, different guy) has created these amazingly intricate suits. He calls them Sound Suits. Look at how incredible these things are. I want one.

the Art of Making Ideas Happen

Are you a procrastinator?

The Cult of Done Manifesto

1. There are three states of being. Not knowing, action and completion.
2. Accept that everything is a draft. It helps to get it done.
3. There is no editing stage.
4. Pretending you know what you’re doing is almost the same as knowing what you are
doing, so just accept that you know what you’re doing even if you don’t and do it.
5. Banish procrastination. If you wait more than a week to get an idea done, abandon it.
6. The point of being done is not to finish but to get other things done.
7. Once you’re done you can throw it away.
8. Laugh at perfection. It’s boring and keeps you from being done.
9. People without dirty hands are wrong. Doing something makes you right.
10. Failure counts as done. So do mistakes.
11. Destruction is a variant of done.
12. If you have an idea and publish it on the internet, that counts as a ghost of done.
13. Done is the engine of more.

you tube smarts

This idea isn't exactly new, but I haven't exactly seen it executed this well either. This guy, Kutiman, edits and mixes youtube videos to make his own music. His site is pretty cool, too. It just looks like a remixed youtube page. If you can, try watching this clip until the singing starts in and if ya can't, skip ahead. It's impressive.

Wrong

This is horrifying and amazing. If you haven't seen Depeche Mode's new music video, watch in HD.
