Sing Me to Sleep

My roommate Travis forwarded this to me 'cause he thought I'd like it. Obviously, I friggin' love it and if you haven't heard this, I think you will, too.

gimme gimme

Yesterday was a good day. My friend Lauren is in want of a big antique mirror. I am a lover of all things “too good to be thrown out”. We went to a huge shop uptown called Demolition Depot. Oh my good lord, this place was heaven on earth: 10ft tall Joseph statues, retired subway tiles, 19th century stained glass windows, church pews and the like. Everything was way out of our price range, but the place was cluttered with inspiration. It was kind of cool how it worked, too. Everything was marked with a number. You carry around a clipboard and take note of what you’re interested in. After you spent the day wandering through all four floors and the humongous back garden you go to the computer and search for what you’ve marked down (which for me would have been everything, including the not-for-sale cute cats running around). Since I’m not a millionaire and neither is Lauren, we jotted stuff down so we could see who could guess closer to how overpriced each item was. It was the best way to spend a rainy Sunday in NYC if you ask me. I specifically took pictures with this blog in mind. Please forgive all the blurs, I desperately need to buy another point-and-shoot camera.

Girls and Corpses

I stumbled across a new magazine the other day. They even have T-shirts and everything.

Corpse-a-rism of the month:
"We put the breath in death."

Where's all the action?

Are you guys at critique group or what?

Lucas is upstairs sleeping on our futon. We were up late trying to watch Phantasm off of youtube. That movie is friggin' awesome. I'm trying to talk Lucas into his next Halloween costume:

Posters I Wish I Had Done

Treasure Trash

Here's the first ever website designed in 3-D. Even if it only utilizes the red/blue technology, it's still cool; except for the fact that most everyday people don't have an extra pair of these specs just lying around. Although, there might be one more if Dad thought twice about what he was throwing away.

Check'er out.

Who is Kirsten Dunst?

This is not for everybody but "the Tim & Eric show" is my new favorite show and Zach Galifianakis is incredible.

Why I Won't Do Letterman

I'm afraid I'd pull a Joaquin. But I think I kind of love him even more now.

Excuse my French

This is a super well done video from the Onion news. If you can stand it, hold through until the end. The bit at the end with the CEO yelling brings tears to my eyes.

Gosh Darn Blessed Be

Mom, I hope you're not upset because I chose Amann to play off for our family blog name. It is our last name, and the first thing that came to me. Of course I think Medlock rivals Amann in terms of cool. I'm just so happy to be both.

Now, let's make this the coolest family blog ever. Thank goodness the Camden's are only a fictional family 'cause you know their blog would be the best reading material ever.
